Is a Rose Just a Rose? When Messages can be Literal or Symbolic, the Results get Interesting!

Whenever I have a reading that ends up with a “wow factor” I love to share it.  Not only do these things still excite me, but I never cease to find spirit fascinating.

As I’ve mentioned in other posts, I am both a psychic and a medium. This means that I get messages from loved ones who have crossed over, but I also can foretell the future. However, I don’t always know when I am seeing something that hasn’t  happened yet.

A few months back I read someone who heard about me from a friend. I was a little disappointed, feeling like I wasn’t exactly on my game. This person did not really jive with many of the images I saw. I told them to write them all down anyway because sometimes they will make sense later. Often during a reading our minds can go a bit blank. I could be telling you about someone named Francis and you could look at me blankly, only to go home later and realize your favorite Uncle is Frankie. It happens a lot. So although I wasn’t feeling like I gave a stellar reading, I figured things might come together.

The one thing that did stick with me though, was how this particular client was a bit of a skeptic. One of the questions they asked me was, “But I don’t understand what any of this has to do with my life?”

I tried to explain that I had no control over what messages came through. I said whatever spirit wants you to know is what I get. I won’t always get an explanation.

Among the myriad of things I relayed to them was the number 5, I asked if there was any significance to the 5th of the month or May. That didn’t hit, so I said it could also be a time frame. Five days, weeks, months from now there will be an event. I mentioned France and a rose. This client was not traveling abroad, did not have a fondness for roses, or knew anyone with that name. I also saw that there was going to be a move for them coming up.

I say fine. Write it down. It could make sense later.

The other day I get a message from this client. They needed to speak with me because things started to come together and in their words it was “freaky.”

It turns out that FIVE weeks after our phone session, this client found out their significant other had cheated on them while away in Spain. (Not France, of course, but I was in the right area at least.) This lead to my client packing up and MOVING OUT of their shared apartment. The woman that they cheated with….was named ROSE!

Moral of the story? Spirit gives me only what you need to know at the time. The pieces of the puzzle will eventually form the big picture.

This was also a lesson I needed to re-learn. Trust my intuition. I was in a place back when this reading occurred that allowed me to let this client’s reactions affect me. I hung up the phone thinking maybe I wasn’t as good as I think I am. I doubted my abilities because things weren’t lining up. There weren’t a ton of boxes to check, and when I do readings I love to check things off. The validations are what help me show you that spirit really is here – that I really am communicating with the Divine or the other side.

Although I was saddened to hear of their misfortune, I kindly reminded them that sometimes, the thing that happens to us that we think is the worst thing in the world, can turn out to be the best thing. It’s all in the perspective.

Maybe we don’t have to decide right away if something is literal or symbolic. Right or wrong. Maybe we just let things germinate for a while until their true identities unfold before us, like petals on a flower.
